With founding by the Special Federal Investment Program, the 1970`s extension building “Bau B” at the catholic girl’s school Marienschule in Offenbach has been refurbished with a focus on energy efficiency and user comfort. Central measures have been the insulation of the building envelope as well as new, noise protecting windows. Further, an automatic ventilation system with heat recovery has been installed. The luscious green to the front is reflected internally at the staircases to match the overall colour concept. Red, pink and orange colours are sprinkled in at the classrooms to add variety and uniqueness. With the complete renewal of the interior, a fire protection plaster had to be added to the ceilings. The soft ceiling surface is contrasting the crisp and colourful plasterboard fit out.
